Chipping alignment

Let’s have a look at 2 different alignments for chipping. The left is shoulders and hips left or target. A very common set up since chipping require less of the lower body movement. The result is the ball starts straighter towards the intended target.

The right is shoulders and hips are square towards the target. Because of the weight placement is towards the left foot, our body reacts by shifting the center or mass to the right creating a high lead (left) shoulder. This causes path to be right (when swinging correctly). Any attempt to swing towards the intended target (linear path to target) will cause you to mishit (skull or ground contact before the ball).

Both chips are a solid contact but the latter starts right and finishes away from my intended target.

After reading above and you still cannot comprehend, trying re-reading it again. It will help you to understand how our body works and why bad shots are happens.
